Tomorrow is National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day, a day set aside to honor family-owned enterprises and to encourage people to support and frequent small businesses. Small businesses account for account for 70% of US commerce, making them the true backbone of our nation. Why shouldn’t they get their own holiday? The day in, day out sacrifices made for family businesses -- the late nights, lost sleep, personal investments, family quarrels -- are something to honor. On March 29, we stop to recognize the hard work you’ve put into making your business exist, grow, and thrive.
Unlike Small Business Saturday, which has been growing in recognition and prosperity over the years, National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day does not get much publicity. However, we believe it’s just as important. Here are just a few ways you can celebrate and spread the word:
